Nominations have opened for the 2013 Australian Cotton Industry Awards, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary.The Awards recognise excellence and high achievement in Australiarsquo;s cotton industry throughout the supply chain, from growers and ginners to product suppliers, consultants, agronomists and researchers.Cotton Australia CEO, Adam Kay, says the Awards recognise individuals and farming teams who have contributed enormously to the industry.ldquo.

Over 10 years the Awards have recognised excellence and innovation in Australiarsquo;s cotton industry, through the good times and tough times,; Mr Kay says.ldquo;This year is special because we are celebrating a decade of saluting those who have made such a positive contribution to the cotton industry and the communities in which they live and work.;ldquo;It is thanks to people who are often nominated for recognition in the Australian Cotton Industry Awards that Australian cotton still leads the world in production and best practice.

The 2013 Australian Cotton Industry Awards has five categories:- Monsanto Grower of the Year - AgriRisk High Achiever of the Year- Chris Lehmann Trust Young Achiever of the Year, sponsored by Bayer CropScience- Cotton Seed Distributors Researcher of the Year- Incitec Pivot Fertilisers Service to Industry AwardCash prizes are on offer for the winners, China Angora Mixed Yarn Suppliers with a Angora Mixed Yarn Suppliers travel bursary offered for the Young Achiever of the Year category.Entries for the Awards close on Friday, March 22, 2013.Winners of the 2013 Australian Cotton Industry Awards will be announced at the Cotton Collective event to be held on August 7, 2013 in Narrabri, NSW.Mr Kay says.
